I'm usually a big fan of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp collaborations. But this time something in the dark and murky world they inhabit something went terribly wrong. AS noted I am a stage fan and was thrilled to hear that Stephens Sondheim's "Sweeney Todd" was due for release. I watched this horrid film on Christmas Eve, and it left me feeling like I needed to bathe and repent. I understand that there would be death and murder, I was no stranger to the plot - however watching blood spurt from the victims, and then sliding down a chair, into a pit, landing with neck breaking thud was just to explicit. This film is rated 'R' and justifiably so. I'm not stating that it isn't noteworthy just very graphic, I haven't been so disturbed since Se7en and Clockwork Orange.
